Gorkha. Organized by Barpak-Sulikot Rural Municipality, Mutu Foundation Nepal, Manoj Association France, Namaste Project XI Group France and medical students studying at Grenoble University in France, and with the technical support of Om Samaj Dental Hospital Kathmandu, 377 people have received specialist dental treatment services from a two-day free dental health camp conducted at Barpak Health Post in Gorkha.

A total of 377 service recipients, including 177 on the first day of the camp and 200 on the second day, received dental check-ups, consultations, teeth cleaning (scaling), teeth filling (filling), tooth extraction and necessary medicines free of charge. According to the organizer, 171 people were provided with scaling, 232 with tooth extraction and 171 with filling services. It is stated that the number of services is more than the beneficiaries as a single service recipient took more than one service as per their needs.
Dr. Harishankar Yadav, Dr. Sudesa Adhikari, Assistant Junu Pandit, Assistant Sirjana Sunuwar, and Om Samaj Dental Hospital Board Member and Social Activist-Journalist Rajan Thapa were actively involved in the camp. The camp was organized with the help of local health workers, women’s health volunteers, and public representatives.
What made the camp special was the active participation of medical students from France. Eva Donze-Carode said, “I am very happy to serve the citizens of Barpak.” Gaia Donne said, “Working with Nepali health workers has been an unforgettable experience.” Leonor Gorias said, “The smiles of the citizens of remote villages are our greatest achievement.” Robin Mauri responded, “Healthcare is a service to humanity, I am proud to be a part of this campaign.” Joe Pigault said, “I will always remember the intimacy and love of the citizens here.” Jean Bokeraj said, “The opportunity to serve in Nepal has been an inspiring experience for me.” She expressed her affection for the Nepali citizens by saying.
Barpak-Sulikot Rural Municipality Chairman Bishnu Prasad Bhatta said that such camps have made specialist health services easily available to the citizens of remote areas and expressed his commitment to continue supporting such programs in the coming days as well. Health Branch Chief Modraj Bhatta and Health Post Chief Keshav Giri said that the need for dental health services is high in rural areas and that the camp was effective.
Mutu Foundation Nepal Chairman Dhan Bahadur Gurung said that the main objective of the organization is to provide access to quality health services to rural citizens and informed that such humanitarian campaigns will be continued in the coming days as well. The participants believe that the camp has further strengthened the humanitarian cooperation between Nepal and France and brought smiles to the faces of the citizens of remote villages.
