A two-day free dental health camp jointly organized by Ramola Pathshala and Om Samaj Dental Hospital, Banasthali Branch, Tarakeshwor-8, Jarankhu has been successfully completed. More than 800 students and parents have benefited from the camp organized with the aim of improving the oral and dental health of students, increasing awareness about dental diseases and ensuring access to timely treatment.
Experienced dentists and health workers of Om Samaj Dental Hospital provided free dental checkups, health consultations and necessary treatment services in the camp. During the camp, 25 teeth were cleaned (scaled) and 42 children had their teeth extracted as per their needs. In addition, practical training was also provided on the correct way to brush teeth, oral hygiene and ways to prevent dental diseases.
School principal Madhu Sapkota stated that education should not be limited to textbooks and said, “Students’ education is not just about empty reading. Real education is that which elevates the lives of students. Students with a healthy body, discipline, morality and positive thinking become good citizens of the nation. Therefore, the school is continuing such programs by giving equal priority to health along with education.”
School principal Bedraj Ghimire expressed his belief that such health camps would increase awareness about health not only among students but also among parents. According to him, the school has been giving equal importance to practical knowledge, moral education and health education along with education.
Similarly, Sabina Papan Gurung, Head of Om Samaj Dental Hospital, Banasthali Branch, said that the main objective of the hospital is not profit, but service, and said, “We are not only in the treatment, but also in the campaign to spread healthy smiles and health awareness in the society. Collaboration with schools makes a significant contribution to increasing awareness of dental health among children from an early age.”
Social activist Rajan Thapa mentioned that education and health are complementary to each other and said, “Today’s students are the leaders of tomorrow’s society. Education is effective only if they are in good health. Such service-oriented campaigns further strengthen the sense of humanity, cooperation and social responsibility in the society. It is possible to build a healthy, conscious and prosperous society through collaboration from all sides.”
At the conclusion of the program, the organizer expressed his heartfelt gratitude to the Raama Pathshala family, Om Samaj Dental Hospital’s doctors and health workers, teachers, employees, parents, volunteers and all the participating students who helped make the camp a success. It is believed that this collaboration between the school and the hospital will make a significant contribution to building a healthy, conscious and responsible society by advancing education and health together.
