Kathmandu, June 20 — Continuing the spirit of social service, the Lions Club of Balkumari Sangla under Rajan Thapa Lions Club International District 325I completed a cleanliness campaign and presidency handover program on Saturday.
The program began with a cleanliness campaign in the Boudhanath area. Then, in a formal ceremony organized at Thakali Bhasnaghar in Mulpani, Bikash Raj Kunwar, the president of 2025/2026, formally handed over the entire responsibility of the presidency to the newly elected president of 2026/2027, Deep Kumar Budhathoki.
The newly elected president Deep Kumar Budhathoki expressed his commitment to make the club more active, effective and service-oriented by fulfilling the responsibilities given to him with honesty, transparency, accountability and service spirit. He expressed his determination to take forward the programs of education, health, environmental protection and humanitarian service more strongly by taking all the office bearers and members with him.
Outgoing President Bikash Raj Kunwar expressed his heartfelt gratitude to all the office bearers, members and well-wishers who provided continuous support, cooperation, trust and encouragement to make his tenure successful and wished the new leadership a successful tenure. He stated that service is greater than position and urged everyone to move forward together to further broaden the service-oriented campaign of Lions.
All the office bearers and members present at the program expressed their commitment to establish the club as a leading social service organization by fulfilling their respective responsibilities faithfully.

This program, which started with a sanitation campaign, was not limited to just a change of leadership, but became a symbol of the spirit of service, transfer of responsibility and new resolve. The participants expressed their belief that the new leadership would take the club to greater heights and spread the light of service to the sad, deprived and needy citizens of the society.
